Where’s My Tax Refund? How to Check Your Refund Status

Read the Article

The average direct deposit tax refund was close to $3,100 last tax season, and with tax season well underway, it’s no surprise that the most common tax season-related question we’re now hearing is: “Where’s my refund?”

The time it takes the IRS to process your tax refund is based on how you chose to file your tax return – either e-file or by mail.

  • E-filed tax returns with direct deposit: E-file with direct deposit is the fastest way to get your federal tax refund. Typically, the IRS expects to issue most tax refunds within 21 days after acceptance if there are no issues.
  • Mailed paper returns: Avoiding a paper return is more important than ever to avoid refund delays, if possible. The IRS cautions if you need your refund quickly do not file on paper. Usually, the IRS says to allow 4 weeks before checking the status of your refund, and that refund processing can take 6 to 8 weeks from the date the IRS receives your return.

Tax Refund Processing

  • Start checking status 24 – 48 hours after e-file: Once you have e-filed your tax return, you can check your status using the IRS Where’s My Refund? tool. You will need your Social security number or ITIN, your filing status, and your exact refund amount.
  • Return Received Notice within 24 – 48 hours after e-file: The IRS Where’s My Refund? tool will show “Return Received” status once they begin processing your tax return. You will need the following information when checking refund status: Social security number or ITIN, your filing status, and your exact federal tax refund amount shown on the tax return. You will not see a tax refund date until the IRS finishes processing your tax return and approves your tax refund.
  • Status change from “Return Received” to “Refund Approved”: Once the IRS finishes processing your tax return and confirms your tax refund is approved, your status will change from “Return Received” to “Refund Approved.” The change in status can take a few days, and a tax refund date will not be provided in Where’s My Refund? until your tax return is processed and your tax refund is approved.
  • Where’s My Refund? tool shows refund date: The IRS will provide a personalized refund date once your status moves to “Refund Approved.”
  • Where’s My Refund? shows “Refund Sent”: If the status in Where’s My Refund? shows “Refund Sent,” the IRS has sent your tax refund to your financial institution for direct deposit. It can take 1 to 5 days for your financial institution to deposit funds into your account. If you opted to receive your tax refund via mail, it could take several weeks for your check to arrive.

You could experience delays in receiving your tax refund if your return:

  • Includes errors – The IRS has indicated that your refund could be delayed if the information you provided on your tax return does not match the IRS records.
  • Is incomplete – If you didn’t have all of your documents and filed an inaccurate return
  • Needs further review in general
  • Is affected by identity theft or fraud
  • Includes Earned Income Tax Credit or an Additional Child Tax CreditUnder the Path Act, the IRS cannot issue a refund that includes the Earned Income Tax Credit or Additional Child Tax Credit before mid-February.
  • Includes a Form 8379, Injured Spouse Allocation PDF, which could take up to 14 weeks to process

Tax Refund Status FAQ

Will I see a date right away when I check the status in “Where’s My Refund”?

The IRS Where’s My Refund? tool will not give you a date until your tax return is received, and processed, and your tax refund is approved by the IRS.

It’s been longer than 21 days since the IRS has received my tax return, and I have not received my tax refund. What’s happening?

Some tax returns take longer than others to process depending on your tax situation. Some of the reasons it may take longer include incomplete information, an error, or the IRS may need to review it further.

I requested my money be automatically deposited into my bank account, but I was mailed a check. What happened?

The IRS is limiting the number of direct deposits that go into a single bank account or prepaid debit card to three tax refunds per year. Your limit may have been exceeded. In addition, for a small number of returns, the IRS decides there may be indications that the bank account on the return is suspicious and they may decide to issue a check instead.

  1. Filed my taxes on Feb 4th, along with my girlfriend and she receive her a couple weeks after and i have yet to even receive my state or federal. And I don’t remember the amount of my federal so I can’t call to find out where they are.

  2. Need serious help. It’s been 8weeks and I was told 6-8weeks and I call every week and it’s been no update. That’s what the reps say. I am dealing with hardship and could use the money to fix my car now I’m out of a job.. ugh I got a tax advocate and filed hardship and haven’t heard from none. What else can I do…..

  3. Hi,
I filed my tax return first time and I filed paper return on 23rd Jan 2015 and applied for ITIN for my dependents. I received the ITIN in 3 weeks. And then refund status was showing return received and return processing. After some days the status was return not processed and it displayed a very generic message, SSN or ITIN or name mismatch or not available with IRS or SSN dept. I called IRS and they are not able to find my data in their database. They asked me to wait for 8 weeks. Every IRS representative answers differently. If first time status was return received and return in process. I am not sure why they are not able to find my data in their system.
Please help me. is any one has gone through such situation?

  4. Lisa,

I filed with turbo tax and received the accepted email on Feb 6. It has been 6 weeks. No refund. I checked the wmr website, it says “being processed. I called the numbers you gave on others emails, and I get an automated speaker that tells me the same thing “being processed”. I called every number Ive seen on this website, and it all gets referred back to an automated voice. Whats going on ? I can’t get a live rep. to get answers.

    Tamara

  5. Shows my check was mailed out Feb 24. Do Not contact IRS before March 24 if not received yet. I have never waited this long. No check as of today, March 20. How do I make them aware?

  6. Filled and accepted with TT Jan. 31, 2015. Talked to three different IRS reps since. None of them had any answers. The last person I spoke with (10 days ago) said she was sending out a request to the errors department and that I now have to wait another four weeks before I can even call them back. I really needed this money to fix my car. It’s kinda hard to job hunt with no transportation! Has it been this long for anyone else?

  7. I filed my taxes with turbo tax on March 5. The irs ‘where’s my refund?’ site notified me stating that my paper check was mailed on March 17. How long does it take to receive a paper check that was mailed on March 17? Also, is it possible to receive the paper check on a Saturday or Sunday?

  8. I filed my return onFebruary 2 and the refund results say still being processed. How long is this going to take???? I am really getting upset that it is taking so long. I have tried to contact the IRS byt you can never talk to a live person HELP!!!!

  9. Lisa today intuit took 116 dollars from my direct deposit acount when you guys said you will charge me from my refund, i needed that money this week!!!

  10. I filed my taxes on February 7th and still have not recieved my refund. I am a single person, nothing to claim, health insurance all year, only one W2…how hard can my refund be?! The IRS website says ‘PROCESSING’ and when I call the provided number it is automated and just says the same thing. How do I speak with someone who can really give me answers?!?!

  11. I filed my taxes on February 28th and still no refund.I went on the website to check and not able to get information. I called the same response. What is taking so long?

  12. so i filed on feb.2 and still says processing on wheres my refund. two weeks ago i completed my id verification. Is there a number i can call? This refund was suppost to help pay for my medical expenses.

  13. Lisa: It’s been over three weeks since the IRS received my tax filing, and the IRS website states if it’s been over 21 days to call. It continues to state “Your tax return is still being processed.” The IRS website states if it’s been over 21 days to call. The IRS phone number to which you referred, (800)829-1040, is only a recording and simply mirrors the IRS2GO data, and I am unable to get through to a live agent to check on my status and why it has been delayed. Could the delay be the result of the fewer number of IRS personnel this year? My tax return is not high risk, the return amount is low – and I’ve never had any delays like this in my returns/refunds in prior years.

  14. I got my federal income tax deposited to my bank today but not my state if I was getting back from state why didn’t it go all together with my federal also when I filed them at the same time? Do this come separately? Because when u check the status of ur return it only shows the status of ur federal refund not ur state

  15. Filed Feb 2 and still processing is what government website says. This is ridiculous! Never had to wait so long. Does it help to call or is it a waste of my time? When do they start to pay me interest on my money? Not sure if going to use turbo tax again. Very disappointed!

    • Hi Shawn,
Since it has been beyond 21 business days you can call the IRS to check status of your tax refund (800)829-1040. Try and call when they open at 7 am.
      Thank you,
      Lisa Greene-Lewis

      • I’m also experiencing a late return, I sent mines on February 6th and it says it’s being processed. When I call the 800 829-1040 I can’t get a human on the phone. I even got my state before my Federal, that’s never happened before.

      • I filed 2/6 and I’m still in processing too. When I call the automated system just tells me they are too busy to deal with this topic and hangs up. Is this normal? 7am in what time zone? I’m very frustrated right now. I also have never had to wait this long either.

      • That number is no help. U never talk to any one and it just tells u the same ting the web does. I tryed several time my income tax was acceped on feb 17 and i still dont have mine. I will never use turbo tax again.

      • @Lisa turbotax it says i should receive my refund within 3weeks from this mail date 3/16 when should i have my refund

    • I Filed Fed 3 thru Turbo its March 19 &still have not received my taxes or a status. I have never had to wait this long. But this will be a first & last time ever working through Turbo Tax

    • Same here – I filed February 4th and still no return…..Is it just me? Or is there a reason that they are REALLY slow this year? If I was late paying my taxes there would be interest and penalties….

    • It’s not Turbo tax! I used Taxact and submitted/accepted on Jan 23! I’m still waiting. I have called several times. They say it was picked for review and it would take 6-8 weeks. Next week will me 8 weeks from the date they picked it for review. I’m so mad! It’s the IRS, not the tax filing sites.

  16. My taxes were filed and accepted on Feb 2, I started off the WMR bars and then the disappeared after a couple days. I called and spoke with someone and they knew nothing. I waited 21 days and called and the lady told me that perhaps I was victim of identity theft. I told her I never heard of that. She then said to allow up to 7-10 business days. I did that. I called back spoke with someone else and they said wait 6-8 weeks. I called back a week later and they said the same thing. I then got online to order my transcript and it said unable to process and listed a number to call which was for identity theft. I spoke with a gentleman that cleared everything up for me was able to tell me why and what the hold up was. He also noted the account about everything I have been told. He told me that the case had been closed on March 6th for investigation. And that my refund should be to me no later then May 9th. Woozzeerrss! Well there is a God! I checked WMR and it gave me a refund date of March 18th. I called SBBT to check and the IRS has made the deposit. Moral to the story….call and keep calling take ever avenue because not all reps that work for the IRS know exactly what their doing. Hopefully you will get a vet like I did. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! Hope not see you here next yr!

    • Wow you were very lucky congrats too you though I been going thru sum thangs too still waiting its been since 01/13/2015 when I filed got accepted 01/24/2015 got ddd for 2/11/2015 it was frozen due too error and I had to do a verification I completed it now it’s been 3 weeks now two days as of now I called today they finally said we gone release your refund u should receive it in 3 weeks? I’m like why so long SMH but at least they gonna release my funds I hope lol

    • This is so weird but the exact same thing happened to me. I tried to get a transcript of my taxes and it told me to call the fraud hotline also. I called but the wait time was so high the automated voice told me to call back another time and disconnected me. I’m going to have to call back tomorrow, hopefully my issue gets resolved.

  17. I FILED MY TAxes electronically and i had the bars for a week then it swithced over to a no info found we recieved your mailed tax return allow 4 weeks for info and call this 800# ext 362 with ref code 9001 which i been calling for 3 weeks and can’tget through AT ALL I called tax payer advocate who looked me up and suggested i do the idverify website I did it i then called id theft dept who did say my identity needed to be verified I told her i did she said good she saw no other info needed from me to just wait patiently for 6-8 weeks. She said this happened becase i havent recieved my 2013 refund yet I told her i am still waiting on that refund to be processed…SMH I hope i get one this year!

    • I filed in early January and im dealing with the exact same thing for the exact same reason also filing with turbotax doesnt help because most cases of fraud came from their services but everytime i call the IRS they say its going to be 3-4 weeks later I only filed a student tuition loan also which has to be manually reviewed because of the extreme high amount of fraud on my type of forms. The worst part about it was the Idverify and how detailed the questions are about your life they asked what my payment for a auto loan was that i had over 4 years ago, how the hell am i supposed to remember that kind of stuff? When ive financed over 6 different cars in my life. The IRS is out to screw all US citizens I unfortunately relied on my return to help me pay for my monthly tuition in college i understand it can take over 21 days but why 10-12 weeks on a Efile? I should have been smarter and filed paper instead of being ripped off by turbotax guess im just another slave to the United States Government

  18. Lisa, I finally got a “Refund Approved” from the IRS. They say my direct deposit will be sent to my bank by March 18th. Does this mean that Turbotax will make sure the deposit is in my bank by that time too? How long does it take for Turbotax to take their fee’s out before I get the rest of my money?

    Kelly

By the way, for everyone else, I put in my return and it was accepted on February 13th. The IRS said that the same day a lot of other people put theirs in and their system crashed. I called Monday March 9th and the person at the IRS said if there isn’t an update by Friday March 13th to call back. I called back last Friday March 13th and the IRS said there was a deposit date of March 18th. “Where’s my Refund” didn’t update with this date until Saturday March 14th. I’m still hoping it comes through by tomorrow or Wednesday.

    • Hi Kelly,
Thank you for giving your helpful update. Regarding your refund, the IRS sends your tax refund to SBBT bank for the fees to be taken out and then SBBT bank sends your refund to your bank. Here is more information regarding the process with SBBT bank https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/2102691
      Thank you,
      Lisa Greene-Lewis

  19. I have been very pleased with the Turbo Tax process, although definitely a learning one. I regret that I was unable to complete the survey, (likely due to something on my part. Thank you

  20. My taxes were payed for feb8 an accepted Feb 9 estimated arrival date march4th still haven’t received an email or anything from TurboTax please contact me I’d sure like to know if there is a problem or anything I’m unemployed ATM still and concerned just wanna know what’s wrong an where it is an when will I be receiving it thanks so much I’m patiently waiting for your answer please contact me thanks

    • Hi Kevin,
You would need to call the IRS since they are approving and issuing your tax refund. You can call them to check status since it has been more than 21 days since you filed (800)829-1040. Try and call as soon as they open at 7 am.
      Thank you,
      Lisa Greene-Lewis

      • Hi Lisa, that number 800 829 1040 only gives you a recorded message about the status of your refund and doesn’t let you speak to a rep.

      • Same here. Looking around it seems it happened in 2013 too. This is my last time w/them….calling is pointless. They ask for your information on the recording and give u the same answer that it’s processing.

      • If has been 21 days since my taxes we accepted and it says it’s still being processed and I will get a deposit date when avalible.
I tried calling and I can’t get through to any one.

  21. I filed my taxes on the 22nd of January and still have yet to receive my tax refund. I called the irs and they placed it under review. I thought turbo tax double checks? Anyways now turbotax says there going to charge my account the fee because they have not received word of my refund, uh nono, if I have to wait you do to.

  22. THIS IS MY 2ND YEAR TO FILE MY TAXES WITH TURBO AND LAST YEAR IT TOOK ME 5 MONTH TO GET MY TAXES BACK AND I DONT KNOW HOW MANY HOURS ON PHONE WITH THE IRS AND HERE WE GO AGAIN WAITING ON MY RETURN NEVER AGAIN AND I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND TURBO TO ANYONE THANK YOU DIANA WITT

  23. I have just been approved for my refund after several weeks. Now thats it’s approved its saying mailed but I signed up for direct deposit is this right (this is my only tax process)

  24. I filed electronically on the 2nd of February and waited until March 11th to call – I called 2 days in row – First day spoke to a women who was investigating and we got disconnected! so I took the challenge and called the next day and got an answer – I was told that there was some financial issue going on and that from the 28th of Feb – I had to wait 6-8 weeks to get a refund. so if its truly 8 weeks that will be the end of April or first week of May. I wish they could have updated me – I have no choice but to wait but at least I know its there and being processed! I understand the cost of postage for millions but sending out an electronic email is free. At this rate I could have saved 60(+) dollars and filed by paper! I have not benefited by filing electronically this year!

  25. we filed jan. 31st and have contacted the IRS numerous times! they’re not showing any offsets or audits. they just said it’s taking longer to process and nothing they can do about it. it’s the middle of march!!!! turbo tax is a joke this year!!! never again!!!

    • Why would TurboTax be a joke when it is actually the IRS that is slowing down everyone’s tax returns? They chose to put my refund in hiatus because I was flagged for “Identity theft”. What a joke! It ended up taking me 6 weeks to get my return that I usually get in 10 days. I’ve been filing with TurboTax for 12 years and all of a sudden they think someone stole my identity? I think this was just a ploy by the IRS to slow down paying tax returns. Period.
TurboTax had nothing to do with this

  26. i filed on the 12th of february and had an estimated date of march 5th being the latest. turbo tax said it was approved and that date was on the irs website. but now it shows processing and no available date. i did file for direct deposit, figuring my wait would be less time. or the fact that the number they provide you doesn’t have a person. any clue how to see whats going on

  27. I filed my taxes on February 21, 2015. It has stayed in processing the entire time. What could be going on? I called the treasury and they did not have any record of any offsets. What in the world is going on?!?!?!?! I ALWAYS get my return in about 2 weeks.

  28. I filed thru turn tax Jan 30 approved the 31st called irs after 21 days and been in processing mode since, now today I called and was told it is being held in the processing debt and they may or may not need anything from me but now told 6 to 8 weeks from the 21 day mark which was Feb 20, so now looking at April 17, this is crazy

  29. We filed the 28 accepted 29 and here it is March 11 and no dang refund oh still processing we’ll take your time cause in April the irs will be paying my butt intrest on my taxes and next year they can bet their butt that I won’t file until the very very last day that way it holds them up like they have held me up piece of crap government

  30. I have not received my refund and my status still shows processing, even though my electronically filed return was accepted. It has been 6 weeks since I filed on 1/25. There is no phone number I can find where I can speak to someone directly to find out my status but I see from these comments that I should call after 21 days. Please help.

  31. I dont understand the irs number i called and turbo tax says they dont see any problems but i still have not recieved my refund and its still processing since feb.15th when will i recieve my taxes and whats going on

  32. Taxes were efiled and accepted on Feb 11, 2015. On Where’s My Refund, it states “still processing.” It has been longer than 21 days, what number do I need to call? The numbers that I have found on the site, give me the same info as Where’s My Refund does. I did have to answer questions/quiz just today 3/10/15 for my state refund.

  33. This year tax season is the biggest joke ever!!!! Waiting …waiting….waiting!!!! The verification was a joke! You tell me you ask me 4 questions to verify who i am and then you will finish my taxes???? Thats after you already had them for 4 weeks which i was not notified i needed to call …i just called to see what the hold up was! Why was none of this explained to anyone this year???? I didnt do anything different this year then i have in the past 13 yrs!

    • I just call again because I call the first time 17th of Feb did the ID verification thing and was told it would be April 4th when I would get the check but after a week still didn’t get any different message from WMR so call back to see if I should even Keep checking it was told yes once they finish processing my check it will show to give it two wk then check it again if nothing wait another two weeks so did that and today was told that they didn’t send my refund back for processing until Feb 24th and now it will be April 24th before i get my refund what is this to crazy

    • It has been 2 freaking months and still no tax refund!! At first I was lead to believe my refund was being held up by my ch 7 bankruptcy. I called by Feb 13th and the IRS stated my documents would be mailed or top the Trustee within 30 days. Lies! It took 5 additional calls to them to find out my paperwork never got signed by a Manager so nothing was ever sent out. Then a week later they didn’t even have the correct trustee’s info despite me telling them tree original Trustee passed away. so because of that I have to wait another 30 days!??? I filed Jan 23rd!!! It’s not necessarily turbo tax, it’s the IRS!!!!

      • I’m in the same boat did that verify thing told me 6 weeks do will I get a check or will it do to my direct deposit or will have I have to go throw more stuff before I get my money I filed on the 24 of Jan

  34. Hi I filed my taxes on 2-15 and and was accepted I got a estimate date of 2-16/3-8 and it still said processing so it been 22 days I called this # 800-829-0582 ext.352 and the ask me did I have to take a quiz I said yes for my state the said that had nothing to do with them she couldn’t find my 2014 taxes in the system so she asked me question on my 2013 taxes I verified all question she asked and she told me it would be six weeks or I’ll get a letter I asked her when do I count six weeks she said I was to start from 2-18 and count I think my identy verification was needed we’ll see so I’m looking at 3-26 for my six week end date I’m being very patient so hopefully I’ll get it if not sooner I’ll keep you posted on my out come …

  35. It says my refund check was mailed on March 6. So how long does it take to get to my box? I live in Texas . Don’t want to be the crazy lady checking her box like crazy

  36. I filed my taxes on Feb 17..the IRS approved it on the 25th..Santa Barbra bank(turbo tax) sent a paper check out on the 26th..it is now March 8th..how long does a paper check take??..the lady said 5-7 business days.?? Where’s my money??..I will probably Neva use turbo tax ever again..this is ridiculous

  37. I filed on 1/26/2015 and have not received anything. When I check on where’s my refund it says no information available. How do I know that they received my filing? And what should I do now? Please help.

    • Hi Shelby,
Since it’s been over 21 days the IRS can look up your information and let you know the status of your tax return.
      Thank you,
      Lisa Greene-Lewis

  38. I truly believe all of refunds are being held up on purpose, not sure why. I kinda think about it but want say. Obama Care is a total nightmare, so they are taking their time, because they can. Now 4-15 will be here shortly, we cannot use an excuse about paying them, but they can jack us around ……there is no help for the little people, but everyone else can treat us like criminal and we have no one to defend us……go figure

  39. I filed my taxes on February 8th, they were accepted the next day. I chose direct deposit. It’s been a month and I recieved nothing, turbo tax says both were accepted but the IRS site that I check daily still says “processing”, what do I do? Did I do something wrong that it has taken so long. My sister filed the same day and recieved her refund 3 days later.

    • Susan,
I also filed mine on February 8th and have not received my refund. I FINALLY got through to a person at the IRS and they said mine was flagged for additional review and it would take 6-8 weeks rather than 21 days but they couldn’t tell me why it was flagged. So they said if I haven’t received my refund or a letter from them by April 13th then I could call again. I have no idea why it is taking so long. Just wanted to let you know that you’re not the only one stuck in this boat! I’ll keep you updated.

    • I filed on the 9th of February and still have the “still processing” showing on my status. Have you gotten anything yet or spoken to anyone to explain the delay?

    • Mine is saying the exact same thing and I filed on Feb 6th! I already received my state taxes. This is annoying how long its taking!

    • I filed my taxes same day 2/8 on turbo tax and still haven’t received my refund either. I get the same message of “still processing”. this is ridiculous. ..

    • Are you still waiting? I filed on the 7th and they are still processing? No letter, no additional info needed. Just still processing…

  40. Well, where to start? I did my taxes with Turbo Tax this year, first year, only year, never again. It may be just a big coincidence, but I’m not doing it again next year. Been a 10-12 year HR Block filer, never had a problem, received my return promptly, no worries. This year, HA! Another story. DId my taxes online, for free, as I only have 1 W2 and no debts. Filed the 21st, was accepted the 21st of January. Time goes by, time goes by, nothing, nothing, still processing, whhoooops, 30th of January my bars disappear. Hmmm, okay, wait, wait, skip to the 11th of February (my 21 day mark) call in, to no avail. Call repeatedly over the next week, no one live will talk to me. Finally on February 20th, I get through to a rep who tells me that it has been flagged, but not for identity theft, but, because I moved, and I have to verify who I am, in order for it to be processed. Okay, I verified some info with her, she then advised me that she would “shoot” this right on over to get it processed immediately. I thanked her, and hung up. About a week goes by, so, roughly the 27th or 28th, I receive a letter in the mail from the Identity Protection sanction of the IRS notifying me that if I don’t call THEM, and verify my identity that nothing can be processed. Now, being the person I am, I did have my doubts as to whether the first lady I spoke with actually did anything, so, I called into the number, and sure enough, nothing was processed, nothing was “SHOT” over anywhere, and this lady tells me that a regular representative cannot collect this info, that she should have forwarded the call to their center. Okay. So, I give her my info, and, she verifies who I am, and states she will sent this “right over” to be processed immediately. Actually, she put me on hold to do this. She then comes back, and states that it may take 6-8 weeks from that day to process. Well, I laughed, because, by this point, anything that happens is just laughable. Now, up to today, the 8th of March. My bars are not back on WMR, it still says processing, but I am now able to order my 2014 Transcripts. I have a cycle date of 20150905 but I do have a 507 code for additional info, blah, blah, blah. Will I see my refund anytime soon?

    • Oh wow. Sorry to tell you but the cycle date 20150905 is when you will receive your tax return just turn it around, so by 05/09/2015. Hopefully you get it before then.

      • I was wondering if it was just Turbo tax people or if HR Block had issues too? But everyone I asked that used HR isn’t having problems…..

  44. I live in Florida. This is my 2nd year using TurboTax. It’s ironic that I filed my taxes on the 8th of February. Last year I received my taxes on the 18th No issues, but this year just like everyone when I check the status of my return it’s ” Still in Processing”. So I called 1-800-829-0582 Ex.352 and was told that because I live in Florida, it’s going to be another 6-9 weeks from March 4. Which is Crazy. Can Turbo Tax Help Me Understand This, CAUSE A couple of friends/family filed after me and Already Received theirs back. And they live in Florida too.

    • well a lot of the fake tax refund were in Flordia last year and if your find had the refund mail or going to a checking account and you send it to a liquid or prepaid card they are checking them very careful.

  45. I filed my tax through a preparer since Jan 26..I received a letter from the IRS saying my return was under review..I recieved my state taxes 2 wks ago but my federal taxes are still saying “processing.” Is there a number that I can call that I can speak to an actual person so I can know just what exactly they are still reviewing.

    • How long after you filed your taxes did you receive a letter from the IRS? I ask because I filed mine through TT on February 8th and was accepted the same day, but still no return.
