If you haven’t heard, we recently ran a contest to do exactly that. We asked people to finish the sentence “My thing is ____” to tell us what makes them and their tax situation unique for a chance to win the grand prize of $10,000! From all of the cool side gigs to various creative projects, we were floored by the amazing submissions everyone shared with us. Check out some of the top winners below and a quick interview with the grand prize winner, Baylee! Grand Prize Winner – Baylee View this post on Instagram A post shared by baylee olson (@bayleebummm) What was your inspiration for your “thing” that makes your tax situation unique? Baylee: Like every 20-something year old, I am trying to figure out what I want my life to look like, which comes with a lot of experimenting and jumping around when it comes to work! I realize that I have a very unique lifestyle being a seasonal worker, freelancer, and artist. Traveling in my sprinter van and working in multiple different states (sometimes countries) at multiple different jobs naturally brings a unique tax situation! In short, the inspiration came from my nomadic lifestyle while navigating how to be an adult! What does winning the $10,000 grand prize mean to you? Baylee: Winning the $10,000 means opportunity in every direction! I feel like the skies have opened up for me and I get to continue exploring the world, jobs, and my art! Being able to get on top financially gives me the luxury of continuing to follow my dreams and inspire people to do what makes them happy! I am also looking forward to a much needed splurge! If you’ve used TurboTax products in the past, how was your experience, and do you plan to use TurboTax in the future? Baylee: I have been using TurboTax since I was 16 and I don’t plan on stopping! I mean it when I say I literally wouldn’t know where to start with my taxes if it weren’t for TurboTax. They make it so easy for me with the questions asked and explaining every section! First Prize Winners While we could only select one grand prize winner, we couldn’t pass up celebrating the stellar entries from our two first prize winners.
