The most common reason is if you accidentally put in the wrong bank account information. Ashley Reply Hi, I used TurboTax to e-file. The IRS accepted my return on Feb.17. I specified direct deposit for my refund, but when I go to the IRS’s “Where’s My Refund” page, I keep getting the message that a refund check is scheduled to be mailed March 4. As I say, I specified direct deposit for the refund and the IRS’s “Refund Cycle Chart” says that direct deposit refund could go out as early as Feb. 25. I do not see any indication of a direct deposit in the amount of my refund yet, and my bank claims that they have no knowledge of it. Does this mean that the IRS is in fact mailing a paper refund instead of simply depositing it per my instructions? Thanks Reply Hi David, If your return was held until Feb 14, that means you filed a form or claimed a credit that was impacted by the IRS filing delays. Regardless of the method you used, your return would not be processed by the IRS until Feb 14. According to the IRS Refund Cycle Chart (link below), the earliest returns processed on Feb 14 would be able to receive your refund is today. I understand it is very frustrating, but TurboTax has no control over IRS processing times and the issuing of your refund. http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p2043.pdf I hope you get your refund soon.
