Ana Rosales is a 38- year-old mother of three who is uninsured and who wonders about the type of health care coverage available and the costs of participating in the Affordable Care Act’s insurance exchanges, which begin operating on Oct. 1.
To help Rosales and the 50 million other uninsured Americans facing important health care decisions, TurboTax has created TurboTax AnswerXchange, a first-of-its-kind social community designed to give you personalized, unbiased answers to your Affordable Care Act, or “Obamacare,” questions.
TurboTax AnswerXchange combines the expertise of tax and health care professionals and the personal experience of peers to deliver exactly what you need – a simple, actionable answer for your particular situation.
Unlike other online question and answer forums that exist today, the TurboTax AnswerXchange is an independent community dedicated to helping you make health insurance decisions with confidence.
Here’s how the TurboTax AnswerXchange works:
- You’ll start by completing a few simple questions: marital status, age, children, income and state of residence.
- To help you make an informed decision that meets your health care needs and budget, the AnswerXchange will automatically show you an estimate of how much the government will pay for your health insurance if you qualify. It also shows you the penalty amount if you choose not to purchase health insurance.
- The AnswerXchange has a clear, simple design that makes it easy to find and view questions and answers relevant to your specific situation. You can also sign up to follow individual questions or topic areas, as well as other users. If you don’t find an answer related to your specific situation from the thousands of questions already in the AnswerXchange you can submit your question and get your own personalized answer.
Whether you’re single, a member of the military, have a large family with children, or recently married, the AnswerXchange can help you find answers to your questions around health care and insurance plans, all tailored to your family income, location, and health needs.
