Students tested their tax knowledge through various interactive activities, including an accuracy-focused basketball game, 360 interactive video booth, iSpy Tax Deductions game, and the much-loved cash cube where they tried to collect as much “TurboTax branded money” as possible. At the end of the event, students exchanged their “TurboTax money” for branded TurboTax swag items like tumblers, fanny packs, backpacks, tote bags, and portable chargers! In addition, TurboTax experts were available onsite at most of these activations to answer any tax-related questions and share the benefits of working with tax experts to file with confidence via TurboTax Live product offerings. NIL Event TurboTax hosted an interactive NIL tax education event at the University of Louisville led by tax experts and Intuit Education team to empower college NIL athletes to take control of their finances starting with their own taxes. There is a growing need for NIL tax education across the country as more and more student-athletes are taking on brand deals and partnerships, profiting off of their Name, Image, and Likeness. During the event, students were engaged and excited to learn about the specific tax implications that come along with being an NIL athlete who participates in brand deals. Campus Ambassadors In addition to hosting on-campus events, TurboTax is also partnering with college students and facilitating peer-to-peer tax education via forty college campus ambassadors throughout the country. These trusted voices on campus have been conducting activities like tabling with themed games for their fellow students, creating educational digital content, and sharing key information and resources to help guide other students who are interested in learning more about taxes or filing for the first time. NIL Athlete Partners This year, TurboTax has also partnered with NIL Athletes who are already profiting from their Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) by partnering with brands on social media and making big life moves. The athletes are sharing their experiences with balancing busy schedules and how TurboTax is helping them to understand their taxes and make filing easy so they can get back to doing what they love! These student-athlete partners share their experiences about how this new income source has impacted their finances and taxes and how TurboTax can help them to make their moves count, especially at tax time.
