The IRS informed us on February 10 that this is a temporary situation and should be resolved in several days. At that time, you will be able to get an expected refund date when you visit “Where’s My Refund.” This is an IRS issue and impacts returns regardless of who sends them in to the IRS. This is not a TurboTax issue. If you have received an acknowledgement of your tax return from the IRS, then the IRS assures us they have received your return and are processing it. Information on the status of your refund will be updated in “Where’s My Refund” once your return processes. This is a temporary situation, and we expect to resolve the matter in a few days. IRS expects the vast majority of tax refunds to continue to be issued within the historical range of 10 to 21 days. Also, please see additional information on this link: The IRS has updated it’s Where’s My Refund site with additional FAQs: http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/article/0,,id=254102,00.html Good question. In fact, it’s one of the most common questions we get at TurboTax. And no wonder. If you’re getting money back, you obviously want to know when it’ll be in your bank account. While the IRS explicitly states it doesn’t guarantee a specific date for depositing a refund, the general rule of thumb for e-filed returns with direct deposit is this: if you e-file your return by noon Thursdays, you’ll see your refund deposit the following Friday. If you e-filed between Jan. 15 and Jan. 21 and opted for direct deposit, the IRS says it should be in your bank account on Jan. 29. If you chose to get a paper check, that will be mailed Feb. 5. If you want a specific answer, just go to Where’s My Refund? You’ll need to provide some simple information from your tax return: • Your Social Security Number (or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number) • Your Filing Status • The exact dollar amount of your refund E-filers can get their refund information 72 hours after the IRS acknowledges your return has been accepted. So, if you e-file your return on Jan. 30 and you’re still waiting for your refund on Feb. 30, you know there’s a problem. Time to give the IRS a jingle. You can get your refund status information by calling 1-800-829-1954 or 1-800-829-4477. I’m in same boat! I did taxes on the 19th and had a DD date of 1/29 then no deposit, then the next week I got the error msg you posted, and then only finally spoke with someone on friday when I didnt get DD for him to only to tell me it will be this friday which is the 12th! Reply hey you guys can you verify here if metabank send the money to your direct deposits and let us know guys becauseim in the same boat wmr said feb 16 2010 so you guys that date its past check on this site to see what it said https://cisc.sbbtral.com/ Reply just a reminder that irs and fed gov’t are closed today due to all the snow. we’ll continue to provide updates when we get more information thanks again for your patience Reply we are working to get more information from the IRS. We’ve been told that one of the issues appears to be a delay in updating the Where’s My Refund? tool. If you are in this situation, which many of you are based on your posts, please be patient; as long as you received confirmation that your return was accepted, you will receive your refund from the IRS. it’s difficult i know when you need the money, unfortunately, TurboTax team is in the same boat since we have no control over when IRS processes refunds. Reply I was supposed to get my refund on Feb. 5 according to TurboTax, and by Feb. 9 according to the IRS. MetaBank sent me an email stating that it was not deposited by IRS as expected on Feb. 5, and since they only receive deposits from IRS on FRIDAYS, well, guess I’m waiting another week. Checked “Where’s My Refund,” and IRS tells me to expect it by 2/16/10. TurboTax, MetaBank and IRS. Three hands in the pot too many. Reply Kap: Just to be clear…we never handle or process your refund. The transaction is between IRS and Metabank. Sorry you’re frustrated. Thanks, scott Reply I’m in the same boat as Kelly, IRS accepted my efile on Jan 17 but still no refund. Reply I filed my tax return with turbo tax on feb. 10 and still have not heard anything. No deposit dated, nothing. Can you help.? Thanks Reply My TT filing was paid for a credit card, was recv’d and accepted on the 24th. I was told that my refund, via direct deposit, would arrive on 2/5. But then the Where’s My Refund site revised the date to 2/9. This made no sense because everyone says the monies are deposited on Fridays. Of course, NO REFUND on 2/5. The WMF site now says 2/16. PLEASE HELP, I really need this money! Reply In previous years deposits were made on Fridays, due to the IRS malfunction this year, deposits are being made on any day. I asked my bank and she said deposits from the IRS are coming everyday. I have friends that have received their refunds on various days of the week, all later than expected. It seems we need to be patient and expect to see our money on any day within 21 days of filing Reply has anyone else waited over 2 weeks??? Mine was to be deposited on 01/29/10 and I got nothing then I was told to wait until 02/05/10 and I got nothing. When I log into the WMR this is what I get.. We are sorry, we cannot provide any information about your refund. It can take up to 3 weeks to process your return. Please wait at least one week before you log-on again to check the status of your refund. I got an email from MEta bank on 01/29/10 that said… Thank you for selecting MetaBank to process your income tax refund. MetaBank has not received your IRS refund this week as expected. We expected to receive your IRS refund on 01/29/2010. Since we only receive IRS deposits once a week, the next opportunity for us to receive your refund is one week past the expected funding date shown above. We will not have any additional information until that time. Then on 02/05/10.. I got this email from META BANK Thank you for selecting MetaBank to process your income tax refund. MetaBank has not received your IRS refund. The expected ACH funding date of your refund was 01/29/2010. Since more than one week has passed since your expected funding date, the IRS has delayed the processing of your tax return. You can check on the status of your refund by calling the IRS at 1-800-829-1040. If MetaBank receives your refund after the expected ACH funding date, MetaBank will process your refund according to your original instructions. So I called the IRS (which is JAMMED with calls and I could not wait due to the time) and got the same message from the Automated system that my taxes are not even processed yet… DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON and when I will receive this $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Reply Not only did I not get my refund in the past TWO weeks as told and expected. The IRS phones are jammed and I called the AUTO SYSTEM and they have no info on my taxes either….. NO ONE CAN TELL ME WHEN I AM GETTING THIS REFUND and no one seems to want to help!! UGH!!! Reply I did my taxes with Turbo tax on 01/18/10.. acepted by IRS with a refund date of 01/29/10 and I got NOTHING!!! then got an email from META bank stating that my tax deposit was not received and to wait until 02/05/10 and then I got NOTHING!! STILL NO RETURN!!!.. the WMR site from the IRS states nothing and no one has ANY ANSWERS!!!! HAS THIS HAPPENED TO ANYONE ELSE???? Reply The irs said they already deposited my money on the 5th of feb. And its noe the 6th and no money. I didnt hAVE this problem last year. It must be the new bank their using. If they are holding our money for interest we should all sue. I called metabank and they said the couldnt help so the gave me SB bank number. I called and they said they have not recieved anything from irs yet. Why would irs say the already deposited the money then SB bank says they have no record of my info? Reply we use the same bank and both of us paid using our credit card. Reply where the h— is my refund from turbo tax!!!! Please someone tell me the truth of why SO MANY PEOPLE ARE NOT GETTING THEIR REFUND!!! Reply My issue is a little different. My fiance and I filed our taxes on the same day, we were both told we’d receive our refund by 2/12 and both got the email from turbo tax saying our returns had been accepted by the IRS. Well he got his refund today and i did not get anything yet. His last name starts with a J and mine with a Q. Any chance this might have something to do with it? Reply Adela, When you get your refund depends on a few things, mainly the IRS and also your financial institution. It could be different by a couple of days. Stay tuned, it should be there soon. Reply I had info on WMR that said a refund would be there on 2-16 but now it says it doesn’t recognize my filing info. I entered the day I filed and it says: “We are sorry, we cannot provide any information about your refund. It can take up to 3 weeks to process your return. Please wait at least one week before you log-on again to check the status of your refund.” What may have happened? Reply Same thing here! Filed my taxes on 1/23/10 and suppose to receive my tax refund on 2/5 and have not yet received it….very frustrating especially when u have tons of bills to take care of!! Hopefully IRS will get all of our monies to us ASAP! Good luck to everyone going thru the same…where is my refund!!! Reply CrystalR- The same exact thing happened to me. It said it would be in there on 2/5 and then I look on thursday night 2/4 and it had changed to the 16th. Its a big bummer, but I hear its also due to the flooding. So we are suffering. Darn. Reply The government will probably have to borrow the money from China just to give us our refunds… I have not recieved mine either by the date I was expected to… I have never had this problem… Reply Hello All, i have done mine and my sons taxes thru turbo tax on the same day Jan 23, 2010, we both got confirmations from turbo tax and IRS. Turbo tax said the refund would be deposited on feb 5th. well my son got his refund deposited in his account but mine, ITS not there. when i went to IRS.GOV and checked wheres my refund now it say its still processing and except it FEB 16 th. I dont understand why this is happening to me when my son already got his refund. this is very very stressful. Any help is appreciated Thanks Amy Reply *update* Accepted return Jan 17th. The “making work pay” tax credit confused a lot of people this year and some online tax sites didn’t fill out the form correctly, so it was sent to the IRS error correction department. That can delay a refund for up to three weeks. Reply Recieved this email today : Dear TurboTax Online Customer: This return has been sent to the government, but we havent heard back yet on its status. Well send out an email with your status as soon as we hear. We appreciate your patience, and thanks for filing with TurboTax. ——— The IRS says it’s recieved and accepted my return and that I can expect it on 2-5-10. Was this email a mistake or is there a possibility My refund wasn’t accepted?? Reply Jamie: You can check your status from within TurboTax. It appears that could be a fraudulent email. I will email you now and would appreciate it if you could send it to us. I would advise NOT responding to it in anyway. Thanks for asking. Best, Scott Reply i just went to irs where is my refind and it said i would get it feb 16 could i get it sooner then that date Reply I just have a question. It’d be great if i could have the response in the next 12 hours. My question is since i am having my fees deducted from our federal return, once the institution used recieves the funds (the IRS where’s my refund states it is scheduled to be deposited on Feb. 5th) will it be credited to MY financial institution that same day? And if not is there a way for it to. I have read the FAQ here on that and it states that this process does not speed up nor DELAY the time i recieve my refund. I really needed that that and can’t quite understand why if the funds can be ACH deposited into MetaBank then why they cannot take the fee amount and ACH credit that to my account. I actually also saw that that process is immediate as well, as in same day. So if that is recieved on Friday the 5th shouldn’t it be credited to my bank that day. I bank with Chase and spoke with them today andthey said that this is defintly possible and should be done. Answer? thanks. Reply James: We don’t answer tax questions inside blog comments. Please visit the TurboTax Live Community to ask your question. That’s where you’ll get the fastest answer. Thanks. https://ttlc.intuit.com/app/full_page Reply called irs the person said my refund will be deposit 2/3/10 hello it’s 6;45pm nothing yet any one knows what the problem could be Reply I filed mine on 1/25/10 and received a notice from turbo tax it would be received on 2/5. at first the irs site wasin agreement with this and it sated no later than 2/9 basically meaning it would be in on 2/5. Then yesterday it changed to say it would be 2/16. I called and they said it was possible mine too would be delayed because processing was delayed thanks to the brillant people who filed pre 1/15 dont they realize this floods the system and you still do not get anything earlier since they can not file prior to this date in fact you end up getting it same time as those who wait to the appropriate time to file. has any one else checked the irs who wa due to receive on 2/5 and see it had been now pushed back to the following friday ugh!! Reply i did my tax return but i needed a pin so i called the irs like you email me to do got it so i went in to fix it why do i have to pay again please email on how to get back to my original form so i can put the pin the irs gave me thank you for your patience Reply Whatever tax problem this was, I did not get my refund on 1-29-2010 as listed by Turbo Tax. I kept checking where is my refund? Nothing showed up. I called IRS, said processing. Finally, today 2-2-2010 it is showing up as processing and if no problem will DD 2-16-2010. What a headache! Extra two weeks because of this glitch in the system. This has affected so many people. The delay is very stressful. Reply So they say it will be deposited on 2-5? Where’s my refund say’s mine WAS deposited on 1-29-10. Soooooo. Where the heck is it then? Reply IF YOU ARE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH YOUR REFUND YOU WILL PROBABLY GET IT ON 2/5 BECAUSE THERE WAS SOME SYSTEM ERRORS. I WAS SUPPOSED TO GET MY ON 1/29/10 HOWEVER I DIDN’T. WHEN I CALLED TODAY THEY STATED THAT IT WILL BE DEPOSITED ON 2/5/10. AMYONE THAT FILED BEFORE THE 15 ARE HAVING SIMILAR PROBLEMS. YOU BASICALLY WAS KNOCKED BEHIND THE PEOPLE THAT FILED AFTER THAT DATE IN MOST CASES. HOPE THIS HELPS. CALL THEM FIRST THING IN THE MORNING AND THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO TELL YOU IF IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH YOUR TAXES 1-800-829-9022! Reply all that number says is getting 100 dollars in certificates Reply I just got off the phone with the IRS. I filed on 1/17 and the IRS accepted it on 1/18 and was told I would get direct deposit on 1/29. I, too, get the “no info” message on irs.gov concerning my refund. The representative told me the IRS had computer problems last week and verified that my return was processed with no problems. I am to receive my direct deposit this Friday, 2/5. Hope this helps everyone. Reply Audrey – Sounds like you signed up for Refund Transfer. Check out this FAQ http://turbotax.intuit.com/support/kb/e-file/ef-status/1883.html The e-mail from MetaBank is not a fraud, this FAQ will explain http://turbotax.intuit.com/support/kb/e-file/ef-status/7890.html Ashley Reply I too was supposed to receive my refund through direct deposit on January 29. As of right now, it still isn’t there. When I check Where’s my Refund” it says that it WAS deposited on the 29th. My bank on the other hand… “Chase” still says they have no record whatsoever of a deposit even being attempted to be made.I didn’t have any fees taken out. I did the simple free edition so I am not dealing with any other bank other than my own. I totally agree that it isn’t anything TurboTax has done considering it is happening to people who have filed through all of the different companies. It WOULD however, be very nice to know where my money is. It’s like our money is just floating around in cyber space. Reply So it is no suprise I too am still waiting for my return after the Jan 29 deadline…I didn’t carefully read the terms and scammed myself out of the extra fees for Turbo tax to take my fees out of my return…booo! My thought is…it looks as if the bank that handles the collection of our money from the IRS thanks to Turbo Tax has decided to capitalize on a little thing called interest…they keep your money for a while in the account that you agreed for them to create…earn interest…then spit your hard earned tax dollars out when they have made a profit… I did get this nifty little email though~**copied below** Is it a fraud??? ————————————————- original below with sensitive numbers removed ————————————————- Thank you for selecting MetaBank to process your income tax refund. Santa Barbara Tax Products Group on behalf of MetaBank Reply I do not think there is any problem with Turbo Tax related to the delay in my refund deposit. I received notification that my return was accepted by the IRS. Therefore, I believe the problem is with the IRS. The biggest problem I have is that when I go to the “Where’s My Refund?” IRS web site, the only thing I get is a message that says “We are sorry, we cannot provide any information about your refund.” If they would at least tell me that they have it and it’s being processed, I would be happier. At the end of the day, once it is in the hands of the IRS, Turbo Tax has done what was contracted. I am just glad it’s not the government running health-care and I am waiting for an operation. Reply Greg,I saw that you wrote this on February of 2010?I have the same issue going on with that website first they told me a date it was processing and then changed to a further date TODAY!!and now they say we are sorry can’t provide any info come back next week! How soon did they fix that for you? Reply Hey, Just wanted you to know that I used Tax Act and I did not get mine either. It is all over the internet, people wanting to know where their refunds are. I don’t know what is going on but it is not due to any particular site or software, just the IRS. Teresa Reply Teresa, Thanks for taking the time to share this information with us. We’re going to look into it tomorrow and let folks know what is going on. Thanks, Chelsea (with TurboTax) Reply Dear Waiting and others, we’re checking with the IRS first thing mon. a.m. to see if we can get any insight. Understand there are some different/conflicting dates floating around. I understand that inconsistency is confusing. We’re looking into it. i know it’s not much consolation b/c you want your $$, but we do appreciate your patience and for your comments. helps us let the IRS know what we’re hearing from customers. thanks! Julie Reply Hi, I was supposed to have received my refund on Jan 29th .Turbo Tax shows the status as accepted, however Meta Bank sent me an email that it did not receive the refund from IRS. It seems there are many others like me , I’ve paid a hefty price for direct deposit, I hope that Turbo Tax will help to expedite my refund, I do not really want to wait 2 months for a check to be mailed to me , especially since i will be moving to a new city next week. Reply Thanks for your comment. TurboTax has no control over when the IRS deposits your refund. The date they give you is approximate. The 29th was Friday. I’d wait a few more days and bet it’s there very soon. TurboTax does NOT charge any fee to have your refund direct deposited into your bank account– and never has. The bank fee you mention above is for the customer’s option of having the bank pay the TurboTax fee directly to us. It has nothing to do with direct deposit. Direct deposit is always free. Most of our customers pay with a credit card in which there is no bank fee. The option to pay using the MetaBank’s services is clearly disclosed on at least 5 screens prior to filing the return. At all points, the customer can opt out and select the free option, which is to pay by credit card. This is the option almost all our customers select. So in summary, direct deposit is always a free option with TurboTax. Thanks again and here’s hoping that refund hits the bank tomorrow. Reply DarthDefault, Sorry to hear we didn’t meet your expectations. If you e-filed with TurboTax you definitely will get notification that your return was accepted/rejected by the IRS. to check the status of your return (NOT YOUR REFUND) you can go back into the product (desktop) or go to turbotax.com (homepage on right hand side “check e-file status”) you just need to enter your zip code and SSN. you won’t hear anything from IRS until you know status of your return. thanks Reply Same thing here. I’m supposed to get my refund direct deposited on January 29th and have not seen it yet. I don’t know what’s going on. Reply Sorry Turbo Tax Yes, the season to be ripped off by HR Block, Was told over the phone that I could walk out with a check, I had completed my tax return in turbo tax like I have for the past 10 year because it cost 50 dollars, but I need the money to do repairs on my home. I was scheduled to get an 11,730 return for buying a home last year. After using there service which was not updated to current tax regulations IE schedule A with student teachers deductions, or the new home buy credit. They wanted to charge me$$$$ 419.00 dollars for there services that I had to tell the guy how to fill out the form in computer and he has been doing this for 4 years. With comments like, what’s per deim, then when I was supposed to get a check they hand me 253.00 dollars on an 11,730.00 that’s thousand on my return. Or I could wait 6 weeks for direct deposit. I could have had it direct deposited in my checking account by turbo tax in 7 days. To top it off I have to file an amendment because they forgot the homebuyers’ credit. What an F ‘ed up operation. No wonder they could not even get there own taxes right. I will never leave turbo tax ever again!!!!!!!! Keith Murphy Sewell, NJ Reply my taxes was accept on 20th, i did not received by money in my account, i heard that irs back up and they changes deposited dates. is that true Reply I have never heard of anyone having issues with Turbo Tax… this must be an IRS issue!! I have not done mine yet (per waiting on another document) so I suppose I will have to allow at least another week past the date they said it would be there. I agree… thanks IRS! Reply At AudieB: Not using Turbo Tax next year, will be your loss. Turbo Tax is not responsible for you NOT getting your taxes. If you would have gone to one of those other centers, and still didn’t get your refund deposit then what? Reply Turbo tax said I should receive my tax by Jan 29 direct deposit. No such luck. I checked Where’s my refund and it said that I should get it by Feb 2. Then I checked later and it said it is taking 3 weeks to process and I should check back in 1 week. What’s going on? Reply I’ve been waiting for a while now, and have gotten no info from turbotax, or the irs. I have no idea if I will get a refund now, the irs claims to have no record of my taxes. I need to speak with a REAL PERSON, but there are none to be found… This has been the worst experience I’ve ever had filing taxes, I should just go back to doing it myself. Reply Haha “gotten no info” Reply try calling 18008291040 Reply My refund should have been deposited today, still waiting. I will not use Turbo Tax next year. I e- filed 1/15/10. I was accepted on 1/17/10, paid my fees from my checking account. Refund scheduled date, 1/29/10. I should have gone to one of those tax centers. Beware!!! Reply I have used Turbotax for the last 10 years.. I have only had one problem and it was my fault (put in the wrong checking account information) If you have not received your deposit yet.. check and make sure your information was right. Go to where is my refund on google and follow the .gov link… Fill in the information… or go back to turbo tax and make sure that it still shows accepted and not error. Reply how long before you received the paper check? Hi Jamie, Typically you should receive a paper check within 6-8 weeks from the IRs accepting your tax return under normal processing times, however the IRS is experiencing delays in processing refunds. Thank you, Lisa Greene-Lewis Turbo Tax is NOT the problem, its the IRS! Have you not seen any of the news about the delayed refunds ? Go to any “tax centers” web page and see what they have to say. One HR Block location put a sign on the door saying, “Glitch in IRS system, will return Feb. 3”, because they had so many pissed off people wanting their refund. Reply i went to hr block and i am still waiting the irs gave me a date a week later than when i filed my taxes and i paid close to 400.00 i wont be going back to hr block they are not always the best Reply Its not TurboTax’s Fault Audie if you look at prior posts. IRS is the person you should be angry at, and as for The big name tax places, people are having THE SAME ISSUES! I like turbo tax and would never go to H&R block or other places like that. What a waste of money those jokers are. Reply Why don’t you do a little homework b4 you blame turbotax? There is plenty of info available that says the IRS has systems issues. Reply dont think its turbo taxes fault. Beware of the tax centers if you want to beware of anything. My refund didnt come yet either but its nothing to do with turbo tax. Reply All tax centers are experiencing the same problems as well. It’s an IRS issue not the tax prepares, regardless of the place you go to, we all send them into the IRS. Reply Hi Julie: Yes, thanks… as is said somewhere else on this site, the “where’s my refund” function on the IRS web site in not functioning, as they not updated it. Reply Hi Greg, did you check out the tool the IRS provides. link is in original post? Reply Hi Julie, I submitted my tax on the 2nd and still unable to check the refund status on IRS website..any advices? thanks Reply Hi Courtney, The IRS is experiencing processing delays. Please see the IRS links at the bottom of this post regarding the processing delays. Thank you, Lisa Greene-Lewis Did u get ur refund? IRS released my refund on Tuesday to Turbo-tax debit card. It’s OVER the 72 hours & no money on my card!!!! The IRS HAS released it to Turbotax….no refund on my card & over the 72 hours Hi Kirk, Sorry about your delays, but due to the fraud occurring industry wide additional security measures have been put in place on the refund card to protect legitimate cardholders. Please see the update: Due to a significant rise in fraud across the industry, Intuit has put in place more stringent fraud detection and prevention controls to help ensure that only legitimate cardholders receive the refunds they are entitled to on a TurboTax Refund Card. In a small number of cases, we regret that a hold on some cards may impact legitimate cardholders. You can go here for additional information (see Security & Fraud Prevention): https://turbotaxcard.intuit.com/support/faq_turbotaxcard.html. Please note that the support line included in this article may require some wait time. Thank you, Lisa Greene-Lewis I didn’t file w turbo tax but with Liberty tax..It’s not Turbo Tax or any of the tax places fault..The IRS..I filed on February 9th and they said February 21st and then it changed to Feb 28 then it changed to we are processing your refund and now They say they have no info available and said basically to not even bother checking again til next week.Seriously?I don’t understand it makes me a bit nervous because it seems lost in a shuffle Reply where my refund Reply Well… it’s Jan 29th and no direct deposit. Thanks IRS for being prompt. 🙁 Reply My money was supposed to be refunded on the 25th still no money…thanks IRS & Turbo Tax Reply Hi, Sorry you haven’t received it yet, but once your tax return was transmitted by TurboTax to the IRS, the IRS, not TurboTax accepts your tax return and issues your tax refund. Please see the IRS update on the delay. The IRS is experiencing delays in processing some federal tax refunds due to changes in their systems. As a result, the original estimated federal refund date provided to you by TurboTax or the IRS may have changed. Your state tax refund is not affected. The most updated information is available through the IRS “Where’s My Refund?” tool, https://sa2.www4.irs.gov/irfof/lang/en/irfofgetstatus.jsp. Make sure to wait 72 hours after your return is accepted by IRS before you check your refund status. hey you guys can you verify here if metabank send the money to your direct deposits and let us know guys becauseim in the same boat wmr said feb 16 2010 so you guys that date its past check on this site to see what it said https://cisc.sbbtral.com/ Reply
just a reminder that irs and fed gov’t are closed today due to all the snow. we’ll continue to provide updates when we get more information thanks again for your patience Reply
we are working to get more information from the IRS. Reply
I was supposed to get my refund on Feb. Reply
Kap: Just to be clear…we never handle or process your refund. The transaction is between IRS and Metabank. Sorry you’re frustrated. Thanks, scott Reply
I filed my tax return with turbo tax on feb. 10 and still have not heard anything. No deposit dated, nothing. Can you help.? Thanks Reply
My TT filing was paid for a credit card, was recv’d and accepted on the 24th. Reply
In previous years deposits were made on Fridays, due to the IRS malfunction this year, deposits are being made on any day. I asked my bank and she said deposits from the IRS are coming everyday. I have friends that have received their refunds on various days of the week, all later than expected. It seems we need to be patient and expect to see our money on any day within 21 days of filing Reply
has anyone else waited over 2 weeks??? So I called the IRS (which is JAMMED with calls and I could not wait due to the time) and got the same message from the Automated system that my taxes are not even processed yet… DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON and when I will receive this $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Reply
Not only did I not get my refund in the past TWO weeks as told and expected. The IRS phones are jammed and I called the AUTO SYSTEM and they have no info on my taxes either….. NO ONE CAN TELL ME WHEN I AM GETTING THIS REFUND and no one seems to want to help!! UGH!!! Reply
I did my taxes with Turbo tax on 01/18/10.. acepted by IRS with a refund date of 01/29/10 and I got NOTHING!!! then got an email from META bank stating that my tax deposit was not received and to wait until 02/05/10 and then I got NOTHING!! STILL NO RETURN!!!.. the WMR site from the IRS states nothing and no one has ANY ANSWERS!!!! HAS THIS HAPPENED TO ANYONE ELSE???? Reply
The irs said they already deposited my money on the 5th of feb. Reply
where the h— is my refund from turbo tax!!!! Please someone tell me the truth of why SO MANY PEOPLE ARE NOT GETTING THEIR REFUND!!! Reply
My issue is a little different. Reply
Adela, When you get your refund depends on a few things, mainly the IRS and also your financial institution. It could be different by a couple of days. Stay tuned, it should be there soon. Reply
I had info on WMR that said a refund would be there on 2-16 but now it says it doesn’t recognize my filing info. I entered the day I filed and it says: “We are sorry, we cannot provide any information about your refund. It can take up to 3 weeks to process your return. Please wait at least one week before you log-on again to check the status of your refund.” What may have happened? Reply
Same thing here! Reply
CrystalR- The same exact thing happened to me. It said it would be in there on 2/5 and then I look on thursday night 2/4 and it had changed to the 16th. Its a big bummer, but I hear its also due to the flooding. So we are suffering. Darn. Reply
The government will probably have to borrow the money from China just to give us our refunds… I have not recieved mine either by the date I was expected to… I have never had this problem… Reply
Hello All, i have done mine and my sons taxes thru turbo tax on the same day Jan 23, 2010, we both got confirmations from turbo tax and IRS. Any help is appreciated Thanks Amy Reply
*update* Accepted return Jan 17th. The “making work pay” tax credit confused a lot of people this year and some online tax sites didn’t fill out the form correctly, so it was sent to the IRS error correction department. That can delay a refund for up to three weeks. Reply
Recieved this email today : Dear TurboTax Online Customer: This return has been sent to the government, but we havent heard back yet on its status. Reply
Jamie: You can check your status from within TurboTax. It appears that could be a fraudulent email. I will email you now and would appreciate it if you could send it to us. I would advise NOT responding to it in anyway. Thanks for asking. Best, Scott Reply
i just went to irs where is my refind and it said i would get it feb 16 could i get it sooner then that date Reply
I just have a question. Answer? thanks. Reply

called irs the person said my refund will be deposit 2/3/10 hello it’s 6;45pm nothing yet any one knows what the problem could be Reply
I filed mine on 1/25/10 and received a notice from turbo tax it would be received on 2/5. at first the irs site wasin agreement with this and it sated no later than 2/9 basically meaning it would be in on 2/5. Reply
i did my tax return but i needed a pin so i called the irs like you email me to do got it so i went in to fix it why do i have to pay again please email on how to get back to my original form so i can put the pin the irs gave me thank you for your patience Reply
Whatever tax problem this was, I did not get my refund on 1-29-2010 as listed by Turbo Tax. Reply
So they say it will be deposited on 2-5? Where’s my refund say’s mine WAS deposited on 1-29-10. Soooooo. Where the heck is it then? Reply
IF YOU ARE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH YOUR REFUND YOU WILL PROBABLY GET IT ON 2/5 BECAUSE THERE WAS SOME SYSTEM ERRORS. Reply
I just got off the phone with the IRS. Reply

I too was supposed to receive my refund through direct deposit on January 29. Reply
So it is no suprise I too am still waiting for my return after the Jan 29 deadline…I didn’t carefully read the terms and scammed myself out of the extra fees for Turbo tax to take my fees out of my return…booo! I do not think there is any problem with Turbo Tax related to the delay in my refund deposit. Reply
Greg,I saw that you wrote this on February of 2010?I have the same issue going on with that website first they told me a date it was processing and then changed to a further date TODAY!!and now they say we are sorry can’t provide any info come back next week! How soon did they fix that for you? Hey, Just wanted you to know that I used Tax Act and I did not get mine either. It is all over the internet, people wanting to know where their refunds are. I don’t know what is going on but it is not due to any particular site or software, just the IRS. Teresa Reply
Teresa, Thanks for taking the time to share this information with us. We’re going to look into it tomorrow and let folks know what is going on. Thanks, Chelsea (with TurboTax) Reply
Dear Waiting and others, we’re checking with the IRS first thing mon. a.m. to see if we can get any insight. Understand there are some different/conflicting dates floating around. I understand that inconsistency is confusing. We’re looking into it. i know it’s not much consolation b/c you want your $$, but we do appreciate your patience and for your comments. helps us let the IRS know what we’re hearing from customers. thanks! Hi, I was supposed to have received my refund on Jan 29th .Turbo Tax shows the status as accepted, however Meta Bank sent me an email that it did not receive the refund from IRS. It seems there are many others like me , I’ve paid a hefty price for direct deposit, I hope that Turbo Tax will help to expedite my refund, I do not really want to wait 2 months for a check to be mailed to me , especially since i will be moving to a new city next week. Reply
Thanks for your comment. Reply
DarthDefault, Sorry to hear we didn’t meet your expectations. If you e-filed with TurboTax you definitely will get notification that your return was accepted/rejected by the IRS. to check the status of your return (NOT YOUR REFUND) you can go back into the product (desktop) or go to turbotax.com (homepage on right hand side “check e-file status”) you just need to enter your zip code and SSN. you won’t hear anything from IRS until you know status of your return. thanks Reply
Same thing here. I’m supposed to get my refund direct deposited on January 29th and have not seen it yet. I don’t know what’s going on. Reply
Sorry Turbo Tax Yes, the season to be ripped off by HR Block, Was told over the phone that I could walk out with a check, I had completed my tax return in turbo tax like I have for the past 10 year because it cost 50 dollars, but I need the money to do repairs on my home. Keith Murphy Sewell, NJ Reply
my taxes was accept on 20th, i did not received by money in my account, i heard that irs back up and they changes deposited dates. is that true Reply
I have never heard of anyone having issues with Turbo Tax… this must be an IRS issue!! I have not done mine yet (per waiting on another document) so I suppose I will have to allow at least another week past the date they said it would be there. I agree… thanks IRS! Reply
At AudieB: Not using Turbo Tax next year, will be your loss. Turbo Tax is not responsible for you NOT getting your taxes. If you would have gone to one of those other centers, and still didn’t get your refund deposit then what? Reply
Turbo tax said I should receive my tax by Jan 29 direct deposit. No such luck. I checked Where’s my refund and it said that I should get it by Feb 2. Then I checked later and it said it is taking 3 weeks to process and I should check back in 1 week. What’s going on? Reply
I’ve been waiting for a while now, and have gotten no info from turbotax, or the irs. I have no idea if I will get a refund now, the irs claims to have no record of my taxes. I need to speak with a REAL PERSON, but there are none to be found… This has been the worst experience I’ve ever had filing taxes, I should just go back to doing it myself. Reply
My refund should have been deposited today, still waiting. I will not use Turbo Tax next year. I e- filed 1/15/10. I was accepted on 1/17/10, paid my fees from my checking account. Refund scheduled date, 1/29/10. I should have gone to one of those tax centers. Beware!!! Reply
I have used Turbotax for the last 10 years.. Reply
Hi Jamie, Typically you should receive a paper check within 6-8 weeks from the IRs accepting your tax return under normal processing times, however the IRS is experiencing delays in processing refunds. Thank you, Lisa Greene-Lewis
Turbo Tax is NOT the problem, its the IRS! Have you not seen any of the news about the delayed refunds ? Go to any “tax centers” web page and see what they have to say. One HR Block location put a sign on the door saying, “Glitch in IRS system, will return Feb. 3”, because they had so many pissed off people wanting their refund. Reply
i went to hr block and i am still waiting the irs gave me a date a week later than when i filed my taxes and i paid close to 400.00 i wont be going back to hr block they are not always the best Reply
Its not TurboTax’s Fault Audie if you look at prior posts. IRS is the person you should be angry at, and as for The big name tax places, people are having THE SAME ISSUES! I like turbo tax and would never go to H&R block or other places like that. What a waste of money those jokers are. Reply
Why don’t you do a little homework b4 you blame turbotax? There is plenty of info available that says the IRS has systems issues. Reply
dont think its turbo taxes fault. Beware of the tax centers if you want to beware of anything. My refund didnt come yet either but its nothing to do with turbo tax. Reply
All tax centers are experiencing the same problems as well. It’s an IRS issue not the tax prepares, regardless of the place you go to, we all send them into the IRS. Reply
Hi Julie: Yes, thanks… as is said somewhere else on this site, the “where’s my refund” function on the IRS web site in not functioning, as they not updated it. Reply

Did u get ur refund? IRS released my refund on Tuesday to Turbo-tax debit card. It’s OVER the 72 hours & no money on my card!!!! The IRS HAS released it to Turbotax….no refund on my card & over the 72 hours
Hi Kirk, Sorry about your delays, but due to the fraud occurring industry wide additional security measures have been put in place on the refund card to protect legitimate cardholders. I didn’t file w turbo tax but with Liberty tax..It’s not Turbo Tax or any of the tax places fault..The IRS..I filed on February 9th and they said February 21st and then it changed to Feb 28 then it changed to we are processing your refund and now They say they have no info available and said basically to not even bother checking again til next week.Seriously?I don’t understand it makes me a bit nervous because it seems lost in a shuffle Reply
Hi, Sorry you haven’t received it yet, but once your tax return was transmitted by TurboTax to the IRS, the IRS, not TurboTax accepts your tax return and issues your tax refund. You can read the IRS update on refund status here: http://content.govdelivery.com/bulletins/gd/USIRS-282378?reqfrom=share#.TyHBCA5GIDY.twitter Thank you, Lisa Greene-Lewis
