Yes, you heard that right. Tax Day is indeed Monday, April 18 this year, but Patriots’ Day – a legal holiday observed in Maine and Massachusetts on the third Monday of April – happens to fall on the same day. The IRS offices in these two states will be closed on Patriots’ Day, giving their residents an extra day to get their taxes filed, should they still need it. This means that taxpayers in Maine and Massachusetts have until this Tuesday to file their tax returns, but don’t let that stop you from getting yours done today!
