*The original tax deadline was Tuesday, April 17, but due to IRS system issues that surfaced on the original April 17 tax deadline, the Internal Revenue Service announced yesterday that taxpayers have until 11:59 PM on Wednesday, April 18 to file and pay their federal taxes. Taxpayers do not need to do anything to receive this extra time.
