File on Smartphone or iPad

  1. It would be really easy to allow TurboTax 2013 to handle 2012 but they just want more money from you guys. 😉

      The most important reason is there are new tax laws every year and the software has to be programmed to accurately reflect new tax laws.

  2. I need to amend my 2012 tax file that II filed with Turbo Tax and now I can not open the file to make the amendment. I have worked on this problem for several hour with no success and spoke to a service rep and he could not help, Can you help ?

      You have to use the 2013 Business product for your 2013 taxes as tax laws change from year to year.

    Pretty much, yes. There are a few forms that still need to be updated and some the IRS has yet to finalize. The IRS did just begin accepting returns for processing as of today. Most taxpayers will be able file without any issues now.

  5. I have tried to log in into the freedom edition but unable to. Is the freedom webpage down until the government accepts returns on Jan 31

  6. Actually NY state is accepting January 22nd and Federal is accepting January 30th. However, I have already had a federal EZ accepted today January 25th.

      States are accepting e-file on 1/30 in conjunction with the IRS open date. You don’t have to wait to file though. You can file with TurboTax today so your taxes are the first in line to be filed.
