  1. I didn’t know I could claim my brother on my taxes until somebody told me back in 2012. I want to know how far can I go back and claim him and get the earned income credit? Can I calim him on my 2011 taxes?

  2. Tonja,

You can use TurboTax to amend your 2013 tax return if there is an error. Make sure the correction will make a difference in your taxes, before filing the return. With medical deductions, it is possible that the adjustment will not result in a tax change due to the fact that medical expenses have to exceed 10% of your adjusted gross income before you get a deduction and you must itemize deductions to see any benefits.
