Under the Affordable Care Act, most Americans need proof of health insurance coverage. Without health insurance, you could face an increased penalty for 2016 of $695 per adult in household or 2.5 percent of income when you file your 2016 taxes in 2017

Open Enrollment in the Health Insurance Marketplace starts November 1, 2015, and ends January 31, 2016. If you don’t enroll by January 31, 2016, you won’t be able to sign up for coverage in the Marketplace unless you have a qualifying life event, such as getting married or having a baby. TurboTax makes it easy to accurately report your health insurance status and Affordable Care Act forms at no charge. Watch our video to learn more.

    • Hi Robert,
The health insurance law from the Affordable Care Act (not TurboTax) is for Americans. That is correct. TurboTax allows you to easily report your health insurance status and TurboTax doesn’t charge for Affordable Care Act forms.
