My husband has his own health insurance policy that we pay for on our own because it’s cheaper than it would be through my employer. My husband has been unemployed for over 2 years. Can I claim the insurance premiums we pay for his individual policy? I see where if you are self-employed you can deduct insurance premiums, but what about the unemployed, or those working where health insurance is not available and they have their own individual policy?

Why is’nt LONG TERM CARE a catagory of it’s own on the tax form 1040? I know that it is deductable as an itemized item when included with other medical. Supose you do not have enough medical to itemize?

I’ve been paying cobra payments for 2010 in excess of over 3,000.00 wish i could use that as a deduction only. only compaines can use their employees healthcare costs for deductions not singles paying unless is high

My husband,age 64,was phyaically not able to mow our 3/4 acre lawn during the 2010 season. Is the amount that we had to pay an individual for doing this tax deductable in some area?
