TurboTax Gives Sneak Peek into the Future of Tax Prep
Doing Taxes on an iPhone? What a Concept!
SAN DIEGO – Jan. 5, 2010 – Filing your taxes could be as simple as point, shoot and submit with a new iPhone application from TurboTax®, the nation’s best-selling, No.1-rated tax preparation software from Intuit Inc. (Nasdaq: INTU). Consumer technology enthusiasts can test drive the company’s latest mobile offering for the upcoming tax season at the Intuit booth at the 2010 ShowStoppers @ CES show in Las Vegas.
SnapTax makes it easy to prepare and file simple tax returns via an iPhone mobile device. Available exclusively for California residents and using advanced optical character recognition software, SnapTax allows taxpayers to prepare and file their federal and state returns from their iPhones. Taxpayers simply snap a photo of their 2009 W-2, answer a few basic questions, review their tax information and click “send” to submit and e-file, all within a matter of minutes.
“For over 25 years, TurboTax has revolutionized how Americans prepare and file their taxes. From desktop to online and now mobile, TurboTax industry-leading innovations have made it drop-dead simple for millions to do their own return,” said Barry Saik, Vice President of Product Management for TurboTax. “We’re re-inventing tax prep so that TurboTax does the work for you, dramatically simplifying the experience and helping to put the biggest possible refund back in your pocket.”
